Upper Lower to Lower Loop to Woods Walk

Distance 7.9 miles round trip

An easy to moderate systemof trails very close to town

The route starts at the west end of Butte Ave. in Crested Butte, becoming Peanut Lake Rd.
Stay on the 2WD gravel road for 1.8 miles to the intersection with woods walk trail on the left or take the Woods walk out from town
The trail begins here, continue to the junctionof the Upper Lower Loop trial at 2.4 miles
Go left on the single track traversing the slope to a turnstyle at Gubsight pass rd at 4.0 miles
Turn right and descend .4 miles, turn right at 4.4 miles on a road
Turn right onto Lower Loop single track. The trail passes the Lower Loop rest stop at 5.3 miles
At 5.8 miles the trail splits and so does the usage. Please follow signs depicting the proper use of the intersection with Woods Walk trail at 6.4 miles
Go right on Woods Walk trail to the trail junction at 7.4 miles. Stay left at 7.65 miles and return into town

Note: The Woods Walk consistes of a series on interconnected short trails on the NWcorner of town

The Woods walk trail can be used instead of the Peanut Lake road. It parallels the road on an old RR grade all the way to Peanut Mill site.

Reverse the directions and ride out the Lower Loop and return on the Upper Lower trail as an option
